Yarn: Worsted weight cotton yarn
I Love This Cotton (3.5 oz./100g – 180 yds./165 m) in color Red used in sample.

Loom: ⅜” Small Gauge (SG) loom with at least 40 pegs
Kiss Looms Small Gauge 2-way adjustable loom used in sample.

4 stitch markers (optional)
Tapestry needle

NOTES 

Tumbling Moss Block stitch pattern:

• Each repeat is 10 stitches and 20 rows.
• Uses only knits and purls.

I recommend the crochet or long tail cast on and the chain or super stretchy bind off for this pattern.

INSTRUCTIONS

Cast on 40 sts.  If desired, place 4 stitch markers on pegs 1, 11, 21, and 31 to mark the beginning of each repeat.

Row 1: *P1, k1.  Rep from * to end.

Row 2: *K2, (p1, k1) three times, p2.  Rep from * to end.

Row 3: *P3, (k1, p1) twice, k3.  Rep from * to end.

Row 4: *K4, p1, k1, p4.  Rep from * to end.

Row 5: *P5, k5.  Rep from * to end.

Row 6: *K5, p5.  Rep from * to end.

Row 7: *K1, p4, k4, p1.  Rep from * to end.

Row 8: *K1, p1, k3, p3, k1, p1.  Rep from * to end.

Row 9: *K1, p1, k1, p2, k2, p1, k1, p1.  Rep from * to end.

Row 10: *K1, p1.  Rep from * to end.

Row 11: *K1, p1.  Rep from * to end.

Row 12: *K1, p1, k1, p2, k2, p1, k1, p1.  Rep from * to end.

Row 13: *K1, p1, k3, p3, k1, p1.  Rep from * to end.

Row 14: *K1, p4, k4, p1.  Rep from * to end.

Row 15: *K5, p5.  Rep from * to end.

Row 16: *P5, k5.  Rep from * to end.

Row 17:*K4, p1, k1, p4.  Rep from * to end.

Row 18: *P3, (k1, p1) twice, k3.  Rep from * to end.

Row 19: *K2, (p1, k1) three times, p2.  Rep from * to end.

Row 20: *P1, k1.  Rep from * to end.

Repeat Rows 1-20 twice more (3 total repeats).

Bind off.  Weave in tails and block lightly if desired.

Tumbling Moss Blocks Stitch Chart

NOTE: Chart shows only 2 repeats across and 2 repeats long.  The actual washcloth is 4 repeats across and 3 repeats long. 

I found using only the portion of the chart in the red box was easier for me to keep track of where I was on each row.
