Make Crochet Angel Wings for photo props, costumes, remembrance, on a pillow or blanket and more. This pattern is similar to the Marshmallow Crochet Baby Blanket that uses the Texture stitch although it is tweaked. Only 5 rows and make two. Imagine a baby laying on the the Crochet Cloud with the wings laying on their back and their little naked bottom in the air; how precious would that be.
*The Crochet Cloud Mat would not be something to leave your baby on unsupervised but the effect it makes is really sweet and highly textured.
Size:
Size 4″ X 7 1/2″ one wing. For the crochet angel wings I’m using the following tools
baby blanket version and pattern: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/marshmallow-crochet-baby-blanket
Tools & Yarn:
Small Crochet Angel Wings:
size L hook/ US 8 mm
Bernat Baby Blanket yarn the colour light teal was used in the sample
Large Crochet Angel Wings
size U hook/ US 50/25mm
Abbreviations:
ch – chain
dc – double crochet
sc – single crochet
st(s) – stitch(es)
Pattern Notes:
Make a chain that is a multiple of 2 plus 3. It is important to make sure foundation chain doesn’t twist while establishing the foundation. The foundation row takes the longest. Once you start Row 2 you will see how fast the rows work and how fast it grows on you!
Textured Stitch (Tex st) general:
Row 1: dc in 3rd ch from hook. Skip next 2 ch. *(sc, 2 dc) in next ch, skip next 2 ch; repeat from * across, sc in last ch.
Row 2: ch 2, turn, 2 dc in 1st stitch. Skip next 2 sts, *(sc, 2 dc) in next ch, skip next 2 sts; rep from * across. sc in top of turning ch. Repeat “Row 2” till desired length. (SEE NOTES BELOW FOR CHANGES)
Main Pattern:
ch21 on smaller yarn
Row 1: dc in 3rd ch from hook. Skip next 2 ch. *(sc, 2 dc) in next ch, skip next 2 ch; repeat from * across, sc in last ch.

Row 3: ch 2, turn, 2 dc in 1st stitch. Skip next 2 sts, *(sc, 2 dc) in next ch, skip next 2 sts; rep from * across to end of full row. sc in top of turning ch (This row only just like blanket version).
