Christmas Mug Hugs and More!
You do know that Christmas is only 68 days away, don’t you? It’s time to stock up on yarn and get those needles, looms and hooks busy. I am always looking for new gift ideas and this year is no different. Like you, I prefer to add that handmade touch. With that in mind my fellow crafters and I got together to design some new patterns for YOU! Having sponsors like Yarnspirations allows us to publish these extra patterns and we both benefit. These knit and crochet pattern will jump start your holiday craft season. I’ve knit up a series of Christmas mug hugs that are perfect for gift-giving.
Christmas Mug Hugs …
Don’t you love warm hugs? Who doesn’t? The chill of winter settles in and we all love to pull on a bulky sweater or wrap up in a cozy afghan. Your coffee, tea and cocoa deserve to be wrapped up in a hug this winter too.
There’s nothing quite as festive as a jolly Santa Mug Hug. Knit using Bernat Pipsqueak and Bernat Handicrafter Holiday and Bernat Handigrafter Cotton yarns this whimsical mug hug can keep your peppermint mocha steaming hot. Let’s face it. Hot coffee may be just the thing to keep you on the nice list this year.
The weather outside might be frightful, but my Snowflake Mug Hug will keep the chill from reaching your tea latte. You’ll be surprised by this one. Don’t be scared of the fair isle knitting because there isn’t any. This mug hug is knit in a solid color and the snowflake is added using the duplicate stitch technique. So easy for a quick gift! Bernat Handicrafter Holidays yarn adds a little sparkle to while keeping the mug hug easy to wash.
The Peppermint Mug and Jar Hug Gift Set has got to be my favorite. The fun, red white striped pattern give the comforting Christmas feel and is a super fast project. Need some quick gifts for coworkers, teachers or coaches? You got it! Fill a pint-sized jar with cocoa and top with marshmallows. Wrap that jar in the Peppermint Jar Hug and tie a matching Peppermint Mug Hug around the top. Done!
… and MORE!
The Crochet Christmas Reindeer Blanket by Repeat Crafter Me has all the fun and whimsy to transport you back to Christmas as a child. The bright red and green border filled with our favorite reindeer will have you humming the song trying to remember all their names.
For that touch of elegance this Christmas you’ve got to try Bhooked Crochet‘s Pop! Crochet Christmas Stocking. Using Bernat Pop! yarn this classic stocking features some pom poms to give it an adorable twist.
I hope you all love these patterns and they spark your creativity this holiday season! If you make any of them please share on social media and tag me with #goodknitkisses so I can celebrate with you.

I would like to make the snowflake cover on a knitting loom. Do you have any videos that would show how to change colors for a pattern on a loom? Thanks. I got your new book. It is very helpful!

Hi Paula! The snowflake pattern on the mug hug is done using the duplicate stitch so you can knit the mug hug on a loom and then use the chart to stitch the snowflake on afterwards. It is very easy.

Thanks Kristen for the great Christmas ideas. The mug hugs will be quick and easy, but I'll work on the reindeer blanket next year. I'm currently making a shark snuggly and a mermaid snuggly along with a shark afghan and pillow, plus a pastel rainbow afghan and cloud pillows (yarnspirations.com ) for my 2 grandkids. Zachary 6, and Zoe 3.

Kristen, your patterns are always great. I just love that Santa mug hug! I will have to adjust it for a mug with a handle. Merry Christmas knitting! Kathy
