Inside: The needle knit Cabled Linen Hat free pattern with written instructions for 2 yarn choices, up to 4 sizes from baby to adult and tutorial videos for both right and left handed knitters.
The Cabled Linen Hat features a beautiful 4/4 cable set in a linen stitch body, a ribbed brim and decreased crown. It is worked in the round on an odd number of stitches.
Pattern includes written instructions for up to 4 sizes (Baby, Toddler, Youth and Adult) and links to fully captioned tutorial videos detailing the cable technique, stitch pattern and crown.
I originally made this hat out a specialty yarn I got from a local yarn shop. But I always like to include a yarn you find easily at a craft store also. When testing the pattern with the alternate yarn the gauge was drastically different. Rather than not include an alternate yarn, I decided to include the sizing and a separate set of instructions for BOTH yarn choices. This makes it easier to work the pattern even if you can’t find the specialty yarn. So, make sure you double check which set of instructions you are using.

Yarn 2: Circumference 13.25 (19.5, 22.5) inches and 33 (49, 57) cm and 7.5 (8.5, 9) inches [19 (21.5, 23) cm] in height.
NOTES
The stitch pattern is multiple of 2 +1.
4/4RC: 4 over 4 Right Cable. Remove next 4 sts with cable needle and let hang to back of work (inside hat). Knit next 4 stitches making sure to draw up first stitch tighter. NExt work 4 sts held on cable needle in order. Knitting may be tight for next round but will ease up for next cable round. TIP: I used a letter J-shaped cable needle; take sts off with smaller end of J-hook then knit stitches in order using longer part of J-hook as you would from a needle.
